Migiwa Lazzari

MASTER VIOLIN MAKER

Music has always been my muse

After graduating in trumpet at Kunitachi Tokyo Music University, I approached violin making by working in the workshop of Maestro Masato Sato, who taught me how to restore and build stringed instruments. With this experience, a new chapter of my life begins and under the guidance of my Maestro, I moved to Cremona to learn and live the violin making tradition.
The diffent language did not stop me. I attended Italian lessons in order to be accepted into the International Violin Making School of Cremona. During my studies, in 2008, I entered as an apprentice the workshop of Maestro Nicola Lazzari, whom I already knew by reputation in Japan, to perfect my technique in making instruments. Here begins a collaboration that lasts until today.
In 2011 I graduated under the guidance of Maestro Giorgio Scolari and now I continue my career together with my husband Nicola Lazzari.

INSTRUMENTS

Some of my instruments

Violins, violas and cellos are inspired by the models of the modern Italian school, such as Garimberti and Ornati, and by classical models such as Amati, Guarneri, Bergonzi and Stradivari, paying special attention to aesthetic and acoustic details.
